Written by Jill Eggleton | illustrated by John Bennett | translated into te reo Māori by Huia Publishers.

Tuaniwha Haututū (Alien in the Park) is the sixth of twenty books of the Bud-e Reading programme for tamariki. The books gradually introduce new words and constructions and build the word bank children need to become independent readers.

This is a fantastic range. Each one includes:

- Prompting questions for the adult (in te reo Māori), to engage the tamaiti in the story. Things like "How do you think the character is feeling? What do you think will happen next?'

- A section at the end of the story for tracing the word

- A 'find-the-word' feature.

We strongly recommend these! For such a small book, they are very engaging. You can also buy the whole set.
